What happened to all of them?
Artemis
She had died as soon as that bomb had exploded.
She had earlier tasted failure when her attempts at Universe domination had been foiled. She had tried to hack into the network that controlled the functioning of the Universe but had been detected. Her marriage with the King had brought her much joy initially. But old habits die hard.
From being second-best, she had simply quit being.
Prince Charming
It had been love at first sight for him when Snow had emerged from her chocolate encasing and they had married about a month later. On the whole, critics blamed him of having a rebound relation with Snow. They said that he didn’t really love her, but had married her because he was depressed with his failure with Ella.
But whether it was a rebound relation or not, their marriage lasted many years. Snow gave birth to a lovely daughter, called Anya. Anya only seemed to make the bond between her and Charming stronger. She was a lovely grand-daughter to the King, who was convinced that it was his old wife reborn. Anya had a significant role in lessening the King’s depression.
The people under Charming who had earlier begun revolting and clamouring for democracy, calmed down after they saw the success he brought to their lands. Now, they regard him as their God, a little junior in rank to the King.
Ella
After spending days with Pied Piper in his somewhat rundown house, they decided to shift to a larger house and continue their live-in relationship. Ella knew that she could never say “I do” to a man again. Pied Piper understood and didn’t seem to have too many problems with that. They made their relationship a big success. It was almost like a marriage without the online-registration.
She took up work as a seamstress with www.furnfabric.com and as part of their staff, she got regular concessions on their designs.
About two years later, she happened to come across online, an invitation addressed to all for Anya’s first birthday. She met Snow in their palace and was very happy for her. By that time, having got what she had wanted, Snow was also ready to forgive Ella. Prince Charming was so much in love with Snow, that anything that Ella had done seemed insignificant to him.
Hansel and Gretel
They didn’t rebuild the kitchen. Instead, they just shifted it to another room. They packaged all the molten chocolate and sold it. It was so good, that they have since then been receiving offers for their house. It is getting difficult day by day to refuse the offers, as money falls short.
Also, they made up with Snow after she was extricated from the chocolate and it became evident that she hadn’t intentionally tried to bring down their accommodation. As a result, their friendship remained intact and they made conscious efforts to stay in touch after her father had returned and she went back to him. She was so grateful for the hospitability she had received at their house, that she asked them to be the best man and bride-of-honour respectively at her wedding and godparents for Anya.
The King
He returned from his trip to Jupiter when the fuel crisis was solved. People on Jupiter have, since then, become very aware that natural fuel is a non-renewable resource and in order to last them, they must shift their usage to other renewable resources, such as solar energy, or harnessing gravitational potential energy.
The King was a little devastated to find out that his new wife had passed away. But over time, he found other pleasures, engaged himself in various activities and played daily with Anya which helped take his mind off the fact that everyone he married seemed to die soon after.
Pied Piper
After moving out to a bigger and grander house and finding work in an orchestra, Pied Piper’s life seemed all set. He never married, but enjoyed a very successful live-in relationship with Ella. She was beautiful and he never failed to wonder what she saw in him.
Two years later, when Ella met Snow, Pied Piper was at first very bowled over with her. But little by little, like the old couple that they seemed to have become, he controlled his feelings towards Snow and prevented a big disaster.
They never had any children. But both Ella and he agreed that that would require more commitment from them than was possible.
Snow
She got her wish when Prince Charming went down on his knee and proposed to her. If she had had any doubts that he didn’t really love her, they were removed when she espied him trying to change Anya’s nappy one fine day.
Her upbringing and her etiquettes made her very popular among the people. If she too had a propensity to talk to her domestic help, it didn’t matter too much, because she knew that she could do anything for Charming. She never gave up being polite with them, however, and after a few months of her wedding, it became a big rage to associate with the working class. This was one of the other factors that contributed towards the continuation of monarchy in the Universe.
